This weekend passed like a blur. I can barely remember anything from Friday except for watching the clock tick down to quitting time. I ran home, showered, and met up with friends at Happy Hour. Later we walked around the local First Friday festivities and ran into old friends. On our way home we considered hitting another bar and stopping to meet up with other friends, but surrendered to the crazy week and went home to sleep before 10. Oh yes, my crazy late twenties haha.
I woke up too late to hit early morning Zumba (8:30 is way too early on a Saturday morning for me) and instead met my sister at the gym. We put in an exhausting 30 minutes on the elliptical and decided it was enough for our first time back in over a month. I'm not trying to break anything my first time back lol.
Sunday was spent cleaning! I cleaned out my closet (hung up CLEAN clothes that I had piled up, shame!), scrubbed the bathroom, vacuumed, and put together a new stationary bike. I bought a recumbent bike a few years ago (under $100 from walmart), but the position put too much pressure on my knees. While browsing Amazon the other day, considering finding a cheap elliptical for home, I found a nice stationary bike instead. It looked intimidating to put together, but took less than 20 minutes and is actually super comfy! Never thought I would describe an exercise machine with "comfy".
The seat is extra wide and only problem I had was my inner thighs hitting the optional TV remote holder. It was an easy fix by just removing it! The bike can fold up for storage so I was surprised the weight capacity was so high and felt so sturdy.
After Zumba, I always itch to hit the gym for more cardio. Only problem is my gym is another 15-20 minutes each way, out of the way. It's a big time investment when I only want to hit the elliptical for 20 minutes and a little strength. Instead, I plan to use the bike at home and add in my kettlebells.
